In August of 2010, American metalcore quintet The Devil Wears Prada dropped the Zombie EP, an out-of-character sci-fi thriller that saw the band push the limits of their sound and abilities. Almost exactly five years later, the now-four piece is back with the Space EP, a six song tower of aliens and space travel expanding on last year’s massive 8:18. As with Zombie, Space sees the band taking a lyrical pause from their normal faith and suffering considerations to stretch their creativity.
Last Friday, Kyle and I hit up El Corazon for The Zombie 5 Tour: The Devil Wears Prada, The Word Alive, Born Of Osiris, and SECRETS all in one night. While any of these bands could have easily headlined their own tour, the blockbuster nature of this tour bill meant that it would almost certainly sell out Seattle, and sell out it did.
Since many of the RCA staffers will be at Vans Warped Tour 2014, we figured it would be cool to do a preview for the bands we’re (individually) most excited to see!

Today, on my 24th birthday, I bid 23 and 2013 a formal ‘good riddance!’ and attempt to salvage an otherwise crappy year with some good music. I know I get wordy, so let’s just get into it. 10 favorite albums, 10 favorite singles, no filler.
A funny thing happened last week: I started liking shows again. I’m not sure how it happened, nor am I sure when or how it stopped happening, but I got to El Corazon Tuesday night determined to enjoy myself.
Dayton, OH metalcore icon The Devil Wears Prada premiered a music video for First Sight this morning. The track is taken from the band’s mammoth new album ‘8:18’, out now on Roadrunner Records. Once the quintet returns from their current UK tour, the band will embark on a hefty US tour, including 11/19 at Seattle’s El Corazon.
