Tomorrow, Jacco Gardner will be bringing his eclectic pop to the Sunset Tavern. Having just put out Hypnophobia not too long ago, the Dutch musician has also released new track “You Have The Key (That Opens The Door)”, which you can stream below. Calvin Love and Tomo Nakayama will also be performing. Tickets are available on the Sunset Tavern calendar for $10.
Last week, Sean emailed me saying that a cool band from Spain was in town for a few days before starting off their West coast tour. Since he couldn’t do an interview from there, he passed the baton to me, and thus, an interview with Capsula was born. This awesome trio just released a new live album, titled Dead Or Alive. For gnarly rock lovers, it’s right up your alley (and right up your Spotify, too!). The tour starts tonight at the (newly renovated!) Sunset Tavern in Ballard, with tickets starting at only $10! The band will also hit Portland, Bend, and Boise in the next few days, so all of the PNW will get a treat. After a breakout year for this rockin’ Seattle band, My Goodness is wrapping up 2014 with a pair of hometown shows: 12/13 at The Vera Project and 12/20 at the Sunset Tavern! This band won’t stay smallish for long, so any opportunity to see ’em in a smaller venue is gonna be a treat. Don’t be missing out.
Tomorrow night at the Sunset Tavern, a handful of local Weezer diehards will celebrate 20 years of the Weezer self-titled in an opening set for Seattle band Post Adolescence. Billed as My Name Is Jonas for obvious reasons, the gang will perform with a set of seriously spot-on reproductions of Weezer instruments lovingly prepared at their ace guitar shop, Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar in Ballard.
We’re just over two weeks out from the official drop date of Seattle pop rock band Verlaine’s full length debut ‘The Open Sea’, and a few days past the band’s successful album release party. Florida quartet Surfer Blood are preparing for a three week residency at the Sunset Tavern in Ballard. Show dates include Saturday 1/4, Friday 1/10, and Friday 1/17.
