      Last week Converse announced a global extension for the Rubber Tracks program calling for submissions to record in some of the world’s finest recording studios… including Avast! Recording in Seattle! This once in a lifetime opportunity requires a band submission with several of the best studio sessions, a brief band bio, and simple application process. Registration is open NOW on the Converse Rubber Tracks website and runs until June 24th, so don’t sleep on this if you’re a Pacific Northwest artist!       Talented Aussie rockers Hands Like Houses covered Natalie Imbruglia’s 90’s hit Torn, which was also a cover apparently… Regardless, the band released a studio video for the cover, which appears on ‘Punk Goes 90’s Vol. 2’. Check it.


    3. News : Memphis May Fire Post First Studio Update

      Following 2012 breakout album ‘Challenger’, underdog metalcore act Memphis May Fire is hard at work on their fourth studio full-length, due out Q1 of this year. The partly Seattle based band posted their first studio update this weekend, focused on monstrous drummer Jake Garland. Check out the short clip below, which may feature some of the new material in the background, and catch Memphis May Fire headlining this February on The Unconditional Tour with The Word Alive, A Skylit Drive, Hands Like Houses, and Beartooth. The tour will pass through the PNW 3/18 in Spokane, 3/19 at Seattle’s Studio Seven, and 3/20 in Portland.

      Texas pop-rockers Otenki will re-release their groundbreaking record ‘Kinetic’ on January 14th, with reimagined versions of the original tracks, a handful of B-sides, and a Spanish debut for the long-running quartet.     7. News : New Lungs Announce last summer show 8/25, to record new tracks

      Seattle rock band New Lungs announced their last summer show and a return to the studio to record a new set of songs. New Lungs will play 8/25 at Chop Suey, with Portland bands Psychic Rites and Cambrian Explosion, The Female Fiends of Kent, WA, and fellow Seattleites Postmadonna. Tickets are $8, and can be purchased through the Facebook event page.
