I think I inadvertently went to my last show of 2015 and didn’t even realize it! The good news is.. it was Modern Baseball, and I was pretty sure I couldn’t make it until about an hour before doors. All good. It all worked out good. (Well*)

Hello and welcome to another exciting edition of “stuff we like,” featuring my own self aggrandizing selection of photographs and reflection. Also attempts to be poetic. This will be the last of our best-of posts, so here’s to you and everyone on staff, and happy 2015! Toronto’s nastiest punk rockers Pup just kicked off Noisey’s Everything Gets Worse tour, a massive North American run that hit Seattle this week. Kelly, Thomas, and I headed to the El Corazon lounge last Tuesday night to see this RCA favorite blast El Co again, and the band did not disappoint.

Toronto punk favorite Pup has a new video for ‘Mabu’, featuring demolition and demolition derbies. All in good fun, to lay a beloved old car to rest. The Toronto punks in Pup have been making a big fuss lately, including a great night at El Corazon with The Menzingers a few weeks back. Watch their performance at KEXP hours before that show in HD below!
A lot of things in life have given me cause to say “whatever, forever” this year, but not music. I went into the last six months not expecting much, but in every (musical) way, 2014 has delivered so far. Also, 23/2013 overall just sucked, so whatever. Forever.
Earlier this week, Scranton quartet The Menzingers brought their headlining Rented World Tour to Seattle’s El Corazon to push the new album of the same title. Supported by Philly band Cayetana, Buffalo trio Lemuria, and Toronto punk hotshots Pup on this national trip, Rented World is being sowed to the masses. New Orleans Topshelf Artist Donovan Wolfington was simultaneously headlining in the El Co lounge, so it was a thoroughly busy night for the venerable building.
