New York breakout band Bishop Allen will be visiting Seattle for the first time in years next Thursday, 10/2. Their new album Lights Out dropped last month on Dead Oceans records, and has been making waves all through music headlines. Last Tuesday, Brooklyn indie pop trio Au Revoir Simone headlined a fantastic night at Neumos Seattle. Currently traveling as the Nylon Music 2014 Tour, the trio was supported by Portland bands Dresses and The Lower 48.
Earlier this week, Scranton quartet The Menzingers brought their headlining Rented World Tour to Seattle’s El Corazon to push the new album of the same title. Supported by Philly band Cayetana, Buffalo trio Lemuria, and Toronto punk hotshots Pup on this national trip, Rented World is being sowed to the masses. New Orleans Topshelf Artist Donovan Wolfington was simultaneously headlining in the El Co lounge, so it was a thoroughly busy night for the venerable building.

Tomorrow night at Barboza, performance artist/EDM experimenter Lawrence Rothman will hit Seattle’s Barboza with NY artist Mas Ysa and local EDMer Zoolab. Rothman will portray a different character every night, and his performance this evening in Portland and tomorrow in Seattle are sure to be weird… in all the right ways.
