You may have heard rumblings lately around town of a new “supergroup” forming. Well, it’s The Wild Things. Brandon “Bird” Ereth and Chad Keller of Monsters Scare You!, Cody Freiburger of Keeping Secrets, Leo Martin of Moneta, and Preston McDonald of Sky Pilot have joined forces to create this new rock band, and they’re making moves. Now in the studio working on their debut album, Joe Bosslet and I had a chance to catch this veteran band’s first show at the Nectar Lounge on 12/11. Keep on the lookout for our show recap of the Seventh Annual Classic Christmas!
This Saturday, Seattle rock band Moneta will bring their rockin’ live show to Showbox at the Market once again, with local bands Stillstand, Subject To Downfall, and The Home Team in tow. Tickets are $15 advance or $20 at the door. Find out more on the Facebook event page!
Members of four major Seattle bands have bound together to form The Wild Things, an exciting new quintet already in the studio with their debut album. The band features former members of Monsters Scare You!, Moneta, Sky Pilot, and Keeping Secrets. This all-star lineup will release their first single in December, a song aptly titled “Can’t Hardly Wait”, and will play their first show together with The Classic Crime at the Nectar Lounge 12/11.
Seattle rock band Moneta will be headlining a great night of local music this Saturday, the 14th at El Corazon. Tsavo, Sell The Rights, and IANA will be present, as well as Kight for the release of debut album Fight To Fly. Tickets are available on the El Corazon website for $10 advance, or $12 at the doors.
The first I heard of Seattle’s Moneta was six years ago. I fought a crazy cold to see Sherwood at Chop Suey, and one of the opening acts was Moneta and maybe Madison Drive. I remember liking the poppy rock I heard, but I was too busy meeting my San Luis Obispo heroes to stop by the Moneta table.
Seattle rockers Moneta has revealed the album art for the upcoming album, ‘The Only Constant’, due out 3/18! Check out the artwork above, follow the band on Facebook to stay up to date with band news, and preorder ‘The Only Constant’ on the webstore to receive it before the street date!
While working on their new record ‘The Only Constant’ this Summer, Seattle band Moneta encountered studio scheduling sessions that delayed mixing and mastering until just recently. Originally slated for a Summer 2013 release, the band is now working hard to fulfill the Indiegogo campaign packages and wrap up the record as needed. The official statement is after the jump, as pulled from the band’s Facebook.
Moneta has announced the ‘Halloween Hangover’ show at El Corazon, set for Saturday, 10/26. The show will feature an all (so far) Seattle lineup, including Crooked Veils (featuring Zach Davidson and Leif Anderson of Vendetta Red), Kight, Subject to Downfall, and others to be announced. Check out the Facebook event page for more details!
UPDATE: 9/3 8:40PM Unfortunately, Moneta has withdrawn from the Sunday show for undisclosed reasons.
