    7. Album Review : Memphis May Fire – Challenger

      Posted on in Album Review

Memphis May Fire is back, and they’ve got a lot to say. Challenger marks the second full-length release from the band since they traded in their southern tinged rock (to the horror of many) for a more hardcore sound (pigeon holing, er, genre classifying has always been difficult). Whereas their last release, The Hollow, left many of their old fans extremely pissed off, it also brought them a ton of new ones, including yours truly. Leading up to the release of Challenger, MMF released a number of studio updates, many of which seemed to address their fans’ anger with the new sound in a sarcastically humorous “get the hell over it” sort of way. Now that the record has dropped, it’s apparent that the band had a few other bones to pick, and they waste no time getting down to it.
