    1. News : TONIGHT! The Sidekicks at Black Lodge

      Ohio band The Sidekicks will be playing at Black Lodge TONIGHT! Currently pushing Epitaph release Runners In The Nerved World this band is gonna rock the secret venue out after their studio appearance at KEXP today. Cayetana (!!!), Kithkin, and The Exquisites will open up the night!

    2. Interview : Capsula

      Last week, Sean emailed me saying that a cool band from Spain was in town for a few days before starting off their West coast tour. Since he couldn’t do an interview from there, he passed the baton to me, and thus, an interview with Capsula was born. This awesome trio just released a new live album, titled Dead Or Alive. For gnarly rock lovers, it’s right up your alley (and right up your Spotify, too!). The tour starts tonight at the (newly renovated!) Sunset Tavern in Ballard, with tickets starting at only $10! The band will also hit Portland, Bend, and Boise in the next few days, so all of the PNW will get a treat. Coni was nice enough to chat with me about the tour, Dead Or Alive, and touring so far from home!

    3. News : Stream Odesza’s “Big Girls Cry” Remix

      Seattle duet ODESZA has had a meteoric rise over the last year, enjoying Billboard success and skyrocketing tour acceptance. This talented local act will continue touring in support of In Return next year, undoubtedly putting out new mixes and tracks on the way. The latest offering is a reworking of Sia’s “Big Girls Cry”, which is available on SoundCloud. You can also watch In Return: Home, the short documentary following ODESZA’s runaway success, on KEXP.

    4. News : Bear In Heaven At Chop Suey 9/7

      Currently out touring with new album Time Is Over One Day Old, critically acclaimed Brooklyn band Bear In Heaven is hitting Seattle’s Chop Suey this weekend. Young Magic and Miles Cooper Seaton support. Tickets are $12 advance on the Chop Suey calendar, and $14 at the door.

      Toronto band Pup has been tearing it up. With a raging new self-titled on SideOneDummy and an upcoming Summer tour with The Menzingers, Lemuria, and Cayetana, this promising young band is all systems go. Watch their new music video for single Guilt Trip (brace yourself!), and catch them on tour in the PNW: Boise 6/15, Seattle’s El Corazon 6/17, Portland 6/18, with a special live performance on KEXP 6/17 at 1 PM as well. Tickets for the Seattle show are $14 advance on the El Corazon calendar, $16 at the door!

    8. News : Alt-J To Release Remix EP ‘Summer’, December Tour Dates Posted

      Award-winning Leeds artist Alt-J has announced a remix EP titled ‘Summer’ on 11/25, as well as a 10-day US tour in December. The EP will feature remixes of songs off the hit debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’, featuring work by Jim James, Odd Future’s The Internet, Ben Lovett of Mumford And Sons, and other major names. For a taste of the remix EP, check out Ben De Vries’ remix of Tessellate, streaming now on SoundCloud!       It’s been a massive Fall for sextet pride of Seattle The Head And The Heart. With the new album ‘Let’s Be Still’ out this past Monday, the band is set for a massive end of 2013. To help push the new album, the band had a KEXP radio session, an in-store at iconic Seattle store Easy Street Records, played a sold out Columbia City Theater, has a single as Starbucks’ national ‘Pick of the Week’, appeared last night on Letterman, completed a Reddit AMA this morning, and is gearing up for an already-halfway-sold-out national tour featuring appearances by the likes of Phoenix, The Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, and other big names.
