If you’ve enjoyed rock for any amount of time, chances are you’ve heard of Coheed And Cambria. I had a chance to work with guitarist Travis Stever for this interview… which was fantastic. Read on:

Washington band Night Argent is going to be the next big thing out of Washington. Huge. This talented pop/alternative rock quintet gave us the lowdown on what’s happened this year and what’s coming up. It’s all huge. Take a look, and keep an eye out for our show coverage of last Sunday’s concert with Charming Liars and Amanda Markley!

    4. Local Spotlight : Duke Evers

      Posted on in Local Spotlight

If musical fate were a thing, Josh Starkel (guitars/vocals) and Kyle Veazey (drums/vocals) of Seattle’s own Duke Evers, were definitely meant to have crossed paths. Having found each other whilst looking for roommates, it wasn’t until months later that they started jamming together and soon realized that their musical styles and ideas were destined to be melded into what is now known as Duke Evers.

    5. Interview : Capsula

      Posted on in Interview

Last week, Sean emailed me saying that a cool band from Spain was in town for a few days before starting off their West coast tour. Since he couldn’t do an interview from there, he passed the baton to me, and thus, an interview with Capsula was born. This awesome trio just released a new live album, titled Dead Or Alive. For gnarly rock lovers, it’s right up your alley (and right up your Spotify, too!). The tour starts tonight at the (newly renovated!) Sunset Tavern in Ballard, with tickets starting at only $10! The band will also hit Portland, Bend, and Boise in the next few days, so all of the PNW will get a treat. Coni was nice enough to chat with me about the tour, Dead Or Alive, and touring so far from home!

    6. Local Spotlight : CreativeLive

      Posted on in Local Spotlight

If you haven’t heard of CreativeLive, jump on it. This Seattle/SF-based teaching community offers world class instruction on photography and videography, art, design, dance, and of course, music. Music/Audio mastermind (and local production guru) Finn McKenty chatted with me a bit about CreativeLive, working in such an exciting organization, and hammering out course materials for today’s musicians. That’s him up there with Kurt Ballou (of Converge) at NAMM!

      Posted on in Interview

Jake Furia And The Be Yourselves is the next big singer/songwriter group to take hold of the industry. Furia was recently featured in Guitar World for his music. The New York based musician had some time to chat with me for an interview, and we discussed his Acoustic EP and his inspirations for writing. Pre-order the EP here.

    8. Interview : Plaid Brixx Interview

      Posted on in Interview

Chris Duggan formed Plaid Brixx in 2013. The Ohio (now) quartet plays synth rock well. Duggan has an extensive set of tools for recording and playing that help his music stand out. The catchy song ‘Chemistry’ is their first single, and the music video is even catchier. I had the chance to interview Duggan, and below he displays his well versed acumen.

    9. Interview : WASI Interview

      Posted on in Interview

WASI is an eclectic pop/rock/punk outfit from California. They combine acts like Tegan and Sara with angst filled punk anthems to create a happy dance genre they define as ‘Riot Pop.’ They just recently released a music video for their song ‘And The World.’ The group is also very fun to talk to, and I was lucky enough to catch a few words with them. Read the interview below.
