      Last week, Andrew and I headed to El Co for the Fourth “Keeping Warm In A Cold World” tour, a West coast benefit series put on by Orange County hardcore band Stick To Your Guns. This year’s spotlight organization was The Wildlife Defence League, a Canadian organization dedicated to protecting wildlife from trophy and big game hunters.

      When you live in a small town, often times there are a few bands that play in your immediate area. One time my band opened up for our hometown hardcore band, and also on the list was To The Wind. Blistering riffs and heavy melodic music seared the audience that night from the Seattle quintet. Their debut Empty Eyes was a solid album, but felt safe and locked into the box. Their newest release Block Out The Sun & Sleep stretches their blueprint and reach new stages of big chords and flowing melodies.

      Alpine CA’s hardcore quintet Being As An Ocean announced their sophomore album today, ‘How We Both Wondrously Perish’, due out on InVogue Records 5/6. Catch these guys in Spokane 3/21, Seattle’s Studio Seven 3/22, or Portland 3/23 with A Lot Like Birds, My Iron Lung, This Wild Life, and more!


    5. News : Terror With Sprung Monkey, Trash Talk, And Suicidal Tendencies at El Corazon 12/5

      Los Angeles hardcore act Terror is making their way up to the Pacific Northwest slinging their new record ‘Live By The Code’. The quintet is touring with fellow Californians Sprung Monkey, Trash Talk, and crossover thrash staple Suicidal Tendencies. The ‘Slam City Tour’ is expected to blow out El Corazon on December 5th (Portland will get a taste 12/3, and Vancouver BC 12/4).
