Since I first heard about Night Argent a month or two ago, I’ve kept the name on my mind. Rooted in the Tri-Cities area and boasting an incredibly impressive resume, this talented young band has been making waves with big name partnerships and opening slots.
The Atlanta dudes in Microwave have had a surge in popularity recently after Forever Came Calling frontman Joe Candelaria mentioned them in interview. Well, the hype is not unfounded. Kelly and I hit up El Corazon expecting a Funhouse Lounge appearance for the genre-jumping quartet, but after an unfortunate van breakdown in the Hit The Lights camp and some reworking by the El Co and tour staff, Microwave was slotted into the mainstage showbill.
Washington band Night Argent is going to be the next big thing out of Washington. Huge. This talented pop/alternative rock quintet gave us the lowdown on what’s happened this year and what’s coming up. It’s all huge. Take a look, and keep an eye out for our show coverage of last Sunday’s concert with Charming Liars and Amanda Markley!
French easycore dudes Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! will be playing El Co tomorrow night with Forever Came Calling, Hit The Lights, and Seattle band To The Wind! Tickets start at $13 on the El Co calendar. See you there?
Meanwhile, in the Funhouse Lounge, Atlanta breakouts (and Forever Came Calling friends) Microwave will be tearing it up! We’ll definitely be covering this one. Tickets start at a tidy $8 for this 8PM show, and who knows, maybe the Microwave dudes will make an appearance on the mainstage with FCC?!
Don’t forget that Cartel’s Chroma anniversary tour will hit Seattle’s El Corazon tomorrow night! Tickets start at a tidy $15 on the El Corazon calendar.
If you haven’t seen it yet somehow, Emery put up a new video for the aptly named “Thrash” yesterday. You Were Never Alone is looking to be the most Emery album of all Emery albums, and as always, we’ve got our ears to the ground. Hit the Emery Facebook page to peep the video and preorder the new stuff. Don’t forget that these vets will be playing El Co 5/15 to celebrate The Question’s 10th anniversary with Wolves At The Gate and others. Tickets start at $17 advance on the El Corazon calendar. Yea.
