      Kyle and I have been at Neumos quite a bit lately, and the latest was for Torrance punk powerhouse Joyce Manor. With Girlpool and Dogbreth supporting, Neumos had a packed house of fans new and old alike.

      Last Monday, Kyle and I hit up El Corazon for the first time in a while to cover some fantastic bands. While Defeater and Counterparts were the major names on the tour bill, California bands Capsize and Hotel Books were the big reasons I wanted to go.

      WASI is an eclectic pop/rock/punk outfit from California. They combine acts like Tegan and Sara with angst filled punk anthems to create a happy dance genre they define as ‘Riot Pop.’ They just recently released a music video for their song ‘And The World.’ The group is also very fun to talk to, and I was lucky enough to catch a few words with them.     5. News : The Sheds, LTDISMB, Rat Path, Singled Out, etc. Benefit Show At The Vera Project 6/27

      On June 27th, California breakout band The Sheds will headline a benefit concert at the Vera Project with Lo There Do I See My Brother, Rat Path, Singled Out, Motion, Unjust, Lawrence, No Sun, Sights, and Brittany Morgan Hay. The show is raising funds to help Tommy Sowell, who was recently injured, and at a staggering $5, it’s an easy choice to show up. That’s less than $1 per band!       Set Your Goals co-frontman Matt Wilson is celebrating the band’s 10-year anniversary with a Kickstarter campaign for their own record label, Calaveras. Wilson has set up an ambitious 2-week funding schedule to reissue the band’s decade EP ‘Reset’ on vinyl as the label’s first release, and is looking to fans for help.
