      Located right in the heart of the music venue/trendy bar/coffee shop/vintage store-infested Seattle neighborhood, Capitol Hill Block Party is the place to be for any music-loving hipster. It is an awesome festival to discover locals bands and catch a few of your favorite bigger name acts. So for those that want to relive the awesome weekend, or for any of you that wish you were there, I got your back! There is no possible way for me to talk about every single band at CHBP, so here is a rundown on the highlights of the three day festival:

      The PNW has a long pedigree of excellent festivals, and Pickathon is an old favorite in our corner of the States. Pickathon’s latest lineup is looking to be yet another bright star in our illustrious festival history. Held August 1-3 in Happy Valley, Oregon, notable artists include new announcement The War On Drugs, Nickel Creek, Warpaint, Angel Olsen, Foxygen, AgesandAges, Diarrhea Planet, and way, way, way, more.       Angel Olsen released her second album today on Jagjaguwar Records, ‘Burn Your Fire For No Witness’. The sultry, intelligent lyrical force is making waves across music news, and will be kicking off a tour tonight in support of her brand new full-length. Olsen will visit Portland 3/5, Vancouver BC 3/6, and Seattle’s Barboza 3/7.
