Bumbershoot 2014 Day 3
Bumbershoot 2014 Day 3 was a solid main stage day. Check out what went down with a few of my highlights:
Capital Cities
Bumbershoot gone wild? Nah. It’s just Capital Cities bringing the house down with their super smooth and funky style! If these guys can’t get you to dance, or at least head-bob, I’m not sure if anything else will be able to. (In their EDM-inspired reprise of “Safe and Sound,” they even got 75% of the Memorial Stadium to remove and twirl their shirts!)
Nada Surf
I got the chance to see Nada Surf perform and acoustic set in the KEXP Music Lounge, and it was pretty rad! Although these guys have been rockin’ together since 1992, Matthew Caws’ voice has not aged one bit!
J. Cole
Love, love, love rappers with a full backing band! J. Cole and his band put on a great live show, and whether or not you were familiar with his music, it was just a very enjoyable show to be at.
Neon Trees
One of the most energetic lead singers in alternative music is undoubtedly Tyler Glenn of Neon Trees. He always puts on a fantastic show and his voice never falters despite the fact that he never stays in one place on stage! Plus, any band that slays a covers of Human League’s “Don’t You Want Me” is an awesome band in my book.
Foster the People
I have seen these guys a few times now, and they never disappoint! This band got the people of Bumbershoot rocking out one last time to end the epic weekend of music and festivities.
