    1. Gallery : Microwave At El Corazon 5/28

The Atlanta dudes in Microwave have had a surge in popularity recently after Forever Came Calling frontman Joe Candelaria mentioned them in interview. Well, the hype is not unfounded. Kelly and I hit up El Corazon expecting a Funhouse Lounge appearance for the genre-jumping quartet, but after an unfortunate van breakdown in the Hit The Lights camp and some reworking by the El Co and tour staff, Microwave was slotted into the mainstage showbill.

Our friend and booker Joe Bosslet’s new band Moments just put up their debut EP on SoundCloud. I had a first look at it last night on KGRG’s The Post, and it blew me away. Their next show will be at Louie G’s in Fife with Lo’ There Do I See My Brother, To The Wind, The Bomb Shelter, and more.

Last week, Andrew and I headed to El Co for the Fourth “Keeping Warm In A Cold World” tour, a West coast benefit series put on by Orange County hardcore band Stick To Your Guns. This year’s spotlight organization was The Wildlife Defence League, a Canadian organization dedicated to protecting wildlife from trophy and big game hunters.

    7. Staff Blog : Sean’s Shining Warped Tour Shenanigans

      Posted on in Staff Blog

Living in a small town can be harsh, mainly because Warped Tour does not even attend the state I live in. Instead of allowing that to be aggravating, my best friend Ali and I looked at this opportunity of travel in positive light. Although the Minnesota Warped Tour date is only three hours north, we decided to travel and be free of the stressors in our everyday lives. We drove to Minneapolis the night before and went out and about in the great city.

    8. Album Review : To The Wind – Block Out The Sun & Sleep

      Posted on in Album Review

When you live in a small town, often times there are a few bands that play in your immediate area. One time my band opened up for our hometown hardcore band, and also on the list was To The Wind. Blistering riffs and heavy melodic music seared the audience that night from the Seattle quintet. Their debut Empty Eyes was a solid album, but felt safe and locked into the box. Their newest release Block Out The Sun & Sleep stretches their blueprint and reach new stages of big chords and flowing melodies.
